PaprikaGirl PaprikaGirl A little sunshine from Japan. This is a non-political account. I’m just here to be sure I’m getting a good variety of information during these troubled media times. #japan #tea #peace

Cold in Tokyo today. Staying in the kotatsu while I can!

Last night, I went to the Tori-no-Ichi (酉の市) festival at Hachimangu (八幡宮) near my home. There, I purchased the first Kumanote (熊手) decoration for my new home. As the years go by, if your home or business expands, return the old one, and get a newer, larger one! #japanesetradition #winterinjapan #matsuru #festivals #luck #superstition #japanisbeautiful

Today I was gifted a big crate of fresh #apples from #Aomori Prefecture (#Japan). In autumn the most common sashi-ire (差し入れ gift) is produce. Fruits, vegetables, and nuts are common gifts. But not usually this many! #arigato

Today’s #Japanese wagashi #sweets. They are made of kinton, and meant to look like a pile of autumn leaves. #autumn #japan #teaceremony #cake #deliciousfood

Time for some coffee and sweets! This is a hagi-yaki coffee pot, which prizes the kannyu (delicate cracks) in the surface.
