Busy, busy, busy today. Raked up the old faded mulch in the front and spread out new pretty mulch, 20 bags worth...I'm exhausted and my muscles are spent, but the yard looks "finished". Bonus cameo of my Redbud tree that now has pretty leaves growing.

We are happy to announce that the issue I posted about a few days ago affecting image uploads has been fixed. We're sorry for any inconvenience this presented. The system we
use to replace AWS S3 had some networking and configuration issues that we have corrected. Do note that previous image uploads that failed while there was a problem may appea
r broken. Over time this should become less apparent.
The other issue we've mitigated is a DNS issue that has caused headaches in accessing the site particularly resolution from DNS servers run by Cloudflare and others. The cause of this was someone or some group attacking our DNS authoritative name servers in an attempt to disable all TCP based DNS resolutions. This should fix the issue of certain VPNs not working as well as other annoyances.
We really do appreciate you being our users and your patience in this time of transition! Again, we're sorry for any inconvenience or frustration due to the effects of these problems.

A couple times a month, my neighborhood friends all get together and hang out in a garage or driveway. Sometimes it's just a few of us. Sometimes it's just having a drink and catching up. Sometimes it's dinner. Last night 9 households were represented...pizza, beer, cookies and a whole lot of laughs. I love my neighbors 😊

Totally random but on my mind so I'm sharing to get it out of there: When I was in 5th grade, my elderly teacher passed away in the middle of the school year.
The school administration thought it would be a great idea to have her class of 9 and 10 yos at the funeral to represent her decades of teaching.
Like most of my classmates, I had never been to a funeral before. Never saw a dead body and here I was looking at my teacher in a box.
I started laughing hysterically and was quickly removed from the funeral by a very agitated teacher who then proceeded to yell at me for being disrespectful. I got in a lot more trouble for this when we got back to school.
I was 9.
The moral: Kids aren't props, school administration does not know what's best for your child and parents need to do better.
It's funny the things we hold onto.

For nearly a year, like most communities, we were continually let down by a school board who repeatedly voted-down (4 to 3) every attempt we made to get our kids back into school. We were in a long fight against radical liberal board members backed by filthy activists in the state Democratic Party and vicious teachers unions.
3 of those 4 radical seats were up for re-election today. One dropped out, and tonight we flipped the other two! We have now taken the board from 4-3 majority in favor of radical progressivism to a 6–1 majority in favor of our community’s children!
This started with only a handful of parents (less than a dozen) organizing, brainstorming, planning, and dedicating their time to action instead of just complaining.
Tonight, we enjoy the fruits of that labor! It can be done. The power is local! So stoked for the district’s students. This is such a big win for them more than anyone else.
Keep fighting on! It makes a difference. 💪🏼🤘🏼🇺🇸

Funny you bring that up...last update, our state controlled water has reduced allocated supply down to 5% of requested supply. So yep, we're in drought again and the state still sends stored fresh water out to the ocean through the delta in order to flush their wastewater from the delta out to the ocean.

We put down new mulch last year. Then my wife decided that the chickens need to be able to roam around the yard. They are incredibly good at spreading the mulch all across the yard. We’re thinking of rock next time. Hopefully they can’t move it around.
